Microfiber Towel
Investing in a high-quality microfiber towel is a must-have for cleaning stainless steel appliances. Its soft, non-abrasive texture effectively removes smudges and fingerprints without scratching the surface.
Microfiber Glass Cloth
Another good investment is a microfiber glass cloth. Although stainless steel is very different to glass, they’re similar in that they can be tricky to achieve a spotless finish.
A microfiber glass cloth is constructed from flat-weave fibers, so it polishes most effectively, leaving surfaces sparkling.
Mild Dish Soap
For stubborn stains or grease buildup, a mild dish soap diluted in warm water can work wonders. For really stuck-on build-up, apply it directly onto the soil and allow it to soak. Avoid harsh cleaners containing bleach or ammonia, as they can damage the stainless steel finish.
Distilled White Vinegar
White vinegar is another excellent option for cleaning stainless steel appliances. Its acidic properties help dissolve tough stains, like hard water, and restore shine. Use it directly onto stubborn stains, or dilute it in water for an all-purpose spray.
Mineral Oil
Another product that some professionals swear by to clean and polish stainless steel is mineral oil. Applying a very small amount to a clean microfiber towel and polishing the surface can buff away light soils. Also opt for food safe mineral oil for kitchen appliances and surfaces.
